IPCE Senior Associate Director Norma Ramos Presents at UIC’s 2026 SparkTalks
Introduction
On Thursday, January 15th, IPCE Senior Associate Director/Adjunct Faculty Lecturer Norma Ramos presented at UIC’s SparkTalks session. SparkTalks, UIC’s take on faculty lightning talks, is held following each of the upcoming U of I Board of Trustees meetings in Chicago, and provides an opportunity for faculty, leaders, and others across campus to learn about the exciting activities happening in every corner of UIC.
In Norma’s presentation Empowering Engagement and Democratic Learning Norma shares how teaching community engagement within civic engagement empowers students to develop the knowledge, skills, and motivation to actively address social issues and improve the well-being of communities through collaborative partnerships.
