About
Margarita Arango is a first-year Master of Public Policy student and Graduate Assistant for IPCE’s Urban Public Policy Fellowship (UPPF). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from UIC in May 2026 with a B.A. in Public Policy and minors in urban studies, sociology, and history. Her policy interests are food and agriculture, social service administration, and higher education.
Margarita’s professional experience includes internships with Cook County’s Department of Research, Operations, and Innovation, the office of State Representative Dave Vella, and Young Invincibles. Currently, she works as an Administrative Coordinator for a nonprofit theater and dance company in Rockford, IL, and as a graduate student ambassador for the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs.
As an alum of the UPPF program, Margarita recognizes the impact of accessible and inclusive research opportunities and is committed to supporting the program’s mission of promoting civic engagement.
