About

Carla Duran is a Graduate Assistant at the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement (IPCES), where she assists undergraduate fellows with their public policy research and provides guidance and supervision for their internship experiences in the Urban Public Policy Fellowship Program. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, with a Minor in Geographic Information Systems, in May 2024. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's degree in Urban Planning, specializing in Urban Transportation.

Carla has previous experience in civic engagement from her roles as an Aldermanic Intern and a Congressional Intern. She is currently a Public Involvement Assistant at a consulting firm, where she actively participates in community engagement, focusing on outreach and policy research.

Carla is dedicated to using her skills to strengthen IPCES's goal of enhancing civic learning and leadership across Chicago.
