Jacob Zivin is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement. His background in civic engagement began during his undergraduate studies at Saint Edward’s University, where he worked for the Kozmetsky Center for Excellence, the university’s hub for civic engagement. At the Center, he helped organize civic panels, conducted research on democratic participation, led environmental policy initiatives through The Civics Lab, and developed content for the Civics Lab Podcast.
Jacob holds a bachelor’s degrees in political science and English literature and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in urban planning and policy at the University of Illinois Chicago. Jacob aims to combine his experience in policy and civic engagement with his urban planning studies to support the mission of the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement.
