Last October, Dr. Hoereth, Director presented “Equity in Measurements of Civic Health and Infrastructure” at The Florida Civic Advance 2023 Summit. His presentation outlined the value of building and improving measurements and how better measures help promote equity.
Dr. Hoereth also talked about aspects of traditional civic engagement vs. a tradition of community organizing and how our measures capture challenging power in civic engagement. The idea of working toward broader conceptions and measures of civic engagement was also highlighted. Participants at the summit had an opportunity to learn practical strategies for engaging the whole community in both measuring civic health and implementing actions to advance community wellbeing.
