The 2021 UPPF Research Symposium Follow-Up

The 2021 Urban Public Policy Fellows Research Symposium took place on Friday, April 16.

This year's symposium showcased our Fellows' public policy research, with policy-related projects that stem from hands-on research experience. Topics included education reform, economic development, and environmental sustainability.

Welcome remarks were given by Joseph K. Hoereth, Director of the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement (IPCE) and Joseph Fields, Associate Director of the African American Academic Network (AAAN).

UPPF presenters included Alondra Flores, Amber Lewis, Aaliayah Romer, Carlos Garcia, Ashanti Simpkins, Hector Guevara, Taylor Holmes, Cyril Dela Rosa, Sean Flynn, Alicia Ramirez, Jocelyn Bravo, Shola Jimoh, Nikia Watkins, Freda Doni, Kamaya Howard, Matthew Swalek, Erick Valen, Alexis Davila, Elizabeth Navarro, Daniela Guerrero, Jazmin Juarez, Deana Kittaneh, Freddy Maldonado, and Valeria Ron.

The day was closed by Dr. Mitzi Ramos, Academic Skills Specialist at Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services (LARES), who gave closing remarks on behalf of Luis Duarte.
