Dalal Katsiaficas, PhD, kicked off our 2018-19 Civic Engagement Lunch talk series and presented her research about how and why being a student of immigrant-origin affects civic engagement.
IPCE welcomed Dr. Dalal Katsiaficas of the Educational Psychology department to share her civic engagement research, "Supporting the Needs of Immigrant-Origin Students to Foster Civic Engagement: A Participatory Action Research Project." In her presentation, she highlights the contributions of immigrant-origin youth to their families and communities as well as the ways in which they conceptualize and engage in resistance to social inequality.
