About
Jackie Carrillo is a Research Associate at the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement where she supports the research team. Prior to joining IPCE, she served in various roles in college admissions and student advising at UIC and other universities. Growing up the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents in Chicago nurtured a passion for social justice and equity. And for her, research is a platform for creating more just societies.
Jackie holds bachelor degrees in Anthropology and Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago, and a master’s degree in Urban Higher Education and a research methodology certificate from UIC. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new parks with her partner and dog, and diving into Chicago’s architectural history.
