About

Shoma Webster graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2015 with her B.A. degree in Psychology and a minor in Asian American Studies. She went on to obtain her M.S. degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018 and became an Occupational Therapist shortly thereafter. Some of her work as a student and subsequently a practitioner included: Volunteering at a Heartland Alliance organization that serves refugees and asylum seekers, advocating for occupational therapy bills on Capitol Hill, completing an international advanced practicum in Peru, and facilitating undergraduate lectures and labs in the Introduction to Occupational Therapy course. Shoma is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at UIC, where she hopes to make an impact on the utilization of mental health strategies in the acute care hospital setting.
